Conclusion

The conclusion should state the significance of your thesis.  You might consider incorporating a quotation from a source that supports your thesis.  Your conclusion does not have to provide complete closure to your thesis argument.  Tell your reader what they should have learned by reading your term paper or essay.

Proofing a Term Paper

Now is the time to edit your paper.  You now want to improve your paper.  In editing your paper do the following at a minimum:

1. Read your paper over.  Find yourself a good proofreader and have them go over your essay.  Once they have read your essay or term paper have them tell you what your term paper or essay is about.  If they do not concur with you on what your essay or term paper is about ask them for suggestions on what you would need to do to change their conclusion.  Yes, you may have to do a lot of rewriting.  You might consider getting someone else to proof your essay or term paper and see what their perception is of your paper.
2. Make sure there is no confusion in your thesis statement.
3. Checkout all of your essay topic sentences and rewrite the weak ones.
4. Make sure you use the active voice, not the passive voice.  A good grammar checker can often catch use of the passive voice.
5. Check your spelling and grammar.  Remember the spell checker is absolutely not foolproof.
6. Unless the essay is due right now sit on it overnight or a little longer if you have the time then read your paper again.  You might be surprised at what you see after a 24 hour time-lapse.

Revising a Term Paper

Ok, you have gotten this far, do not get lazy and turn-in less that your best effort.  Fix all the errors you found while proofing your essay,  term paper, or book report.  After fixing your mistakes reread your essay or term paper again with the same attention to detail you used when initially proofing your paper.  Yes, have someone else proof read your revision.  Keep doing this until you feel you have it right.  Good luck or your term paper or essay.
